Blogger now supports authentication by OpenID so I have switched from allowing any old commenting to asking everyone to authenticate in some way to comment. OpenID is supported by such services as WordPress.com or LiveJournal, or you can carry on using a blogger account to log in. There again you could set up your own OpenID implementation.
