Darling orders a crate of Indian lager

The Guardian is reporting the latest weakness in the office of the Chancellor of the Exchequer. Apparently Alistair Darling no longer thinks he can cope with running the economy, even with the support of a boss that did the job for 10 years strait. So he is asking for a COBR(A) style emergency response committee to steer the blame away from him assist him in managing future Northern Rock style crises in the UK economy.
Well it is nice to know that a) he knows when he is in over his head and b) we can definitely expect further disasters that will require the nation to put huge amounts of money into to clear up.
